We recommend getting your abayas dry cleaned for longevity if you want your abayas to look new years to come. We understand this isn't possible for everyone so wash your abaya's in your washing machine on DELICATE settings with COLD water. Use a very gentle liquid detergent or a specific abaya liquid detergent. Air dry your abayas or dry in your dryer with NO HEAT. Make sure to not use any heat at all during the process of cleaning your abayas (besides steaming them!).
